In October this year we had the great pleasure to host the lovely Jane Webster in store to launch her new book, French House Chic. Jane joined us for a chat about all things French, her beautiful life and stunning new book.
This is the first time that I had met Jane, yet we were instantly great friends with a lot in common. Our love of all things French, and taking chances to create a life you love were all topics that propelled our joyous conversation.
Backtracking Jane Webster’s Experiences
In 2005, she did what I think a lot of us dream of doing – but then subsequently deem ‘impractical’ or give in to a myriad of excuses as to why the idea is ‘crazy’ and just won’t work. Jane, along with her husband and family left her comfortable Australian life for that of one across the world, to run a 72 room chateau in a small province in France.
There is something so satisfying and inspiring about watching someone take risks and pursue a life they have dreamed about. Jane and her family took this grand but neglected chateau in Normandy and they turned it into the magnificent Chateau Bosgouet, a sought after destination for anyone travelling the French countryside.
Jane’s love of French design and her seemingly effortless ability to create gorgeous spaces with a quintessentially French flair is inspiring.
My family and I are going to France in January 2018 and Jane invited us to visit with her at Chateau Bosgouet. Naturally, I would love to see Jane again and, of course, to see what magical spaces she has created in her Chateau. What a thrill – I can’t wait.
Why not make 2018 a year where you might follow a dream that you may have?
