Fresh Water Pearl Necklace
9.30am – 2.30pm

Making a pearl necklace the traditional hand-knotted way is a skill that anyone can learn with fantastic results. No prior experience is necessary to complete this workshop – beginners are welcome!

You will learn step by step how to string, knot and finish your pearl necklace. All necessary tools and materials are provided and your teacher Evanthea, will be with you to provide all the insider tips and tricks that you only get from years of experience.

You will come away with a continuous pearl necklace (no clasp). The length is enough to slip easily on over your head and provides a classic, bold addition to any outfit. You will also be given a velvet pouch to store your pearls safely, and information on how best to look after your pearls to keep them looking their best.

While you are busy creating we will serve delicious morning tea and lunch.

You will be stringing cultured freshwater ‘potato’ pearls. They are natural white with a very high lustre and feature statement rings and ridges. The pearls are of a medium size (11-12mm) and really make a statement. You will be stringing and knotting the pearls using real silk thread in white to create a classic, bold piece of jewellery that will keep for years to come.

Please be aware that this workshop involves intricate work and we recommend that you bring with you your best prescription glasses if you need them in order to see clearly when threading the pearls. It is also best to keep fingernails short as long or artificial nails make it impossible to tie the knots.

CANCELLATIONS – Blake & Taylor must be notified no less than 3 days (72 hours) prior to your workshop via email or phone and an alternative workshop will be organised. Cancellations after this 3 day period are non-transferable. No refunds can be given, sorry.
