9.30am – 2.30pm
Making a pearl necklace the traditional hand-knotted way is a skill that anyone can learn with fantastic results. No prior experience is necessary to complete this workshop – beginners are welcome!
You will learn step by step how to string, knot, incorporate a clasp and finish your pearl necklace. All necessary tools and materials are provided and your teacher Evanthea, will be with you to provide all the insider tips and tricks that you only get from years of experience.
The pearls are cream 8-9mm potato pearls with a smooth finish and high lustre which you will string and knot using real silk thread in white to create your necklace. The clasp is a sterling silver magnetic closure clasp with stardust finish. You will come away with a pearl necklace measuring approximately 40-45cm. You will also be given a velvet pouch to store your pearls safely, and information on how best to look after your pearls to keep them looking their best.
While you are busy creating we will serve delicious morning tea and lunch.
Please be aware that this workshop involves intricate work and we recommend that you bring with you your best prescription glasses if you need them in order to see clearly when threading the pearls. It is also best to keep fingernails short as long or artificial nails make it impossible to tie the knots.
CANCELLATIONS – Blake & Taylor must be notified no less than 3 days (72 hours) prior to your workshop via email or phone and an alternative workshop will be organised. Cancellations after this 3 day period are non-transferable. No refunds can be given, sorry.
