Yes, you really can use my Blake & Taylor Chalk Furniture Paint on leather shoes! Here is a pair of great wedges that I needed to go with a specific outfit but I didn’t want to go out and purchase a new pair. I had a bit of ‘Hampton’ colour left over from some other projects, so I thought I would give them a little makeover and create a new look.
Here’s how I did it.
Firstly I gave them a good clean with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. I then left them to dry fully.
I then applied two thin coats of Blake & Taylor Chalk Furniture Paint in ‘Hampton’. The first coat was dry within 20 minutes and ready for the second application. Two coats were enough to cover the original dark navy colour of the leather.
Allow the paint to dry fully before applying a touch of Blake & Taylor Natural Wax. This helps to soften the leather and add protection. This process is just like adding shoe polish. Add the wax with a dry lint-free cloth. Rub it into the surface and then wipe away the excess. No cracking or stiffness just lovely
soft blush pink leather. There you have it, a great new pair of fabulous shoes!

Why not give it go on some of your shoes. Send in before and after pics so we can share them.

great idea. Well done.
Thanks Jeanette. Ellie x
Ellie do you have a “before” photo of the shoes?
Hi Marjorie
the photos in the blog are the after photos. We do not have any before ones. The leather on the shoes was just navy blue before we painted them.
